Segedin with dumplings


If you don't like sauerkraut, chances that you will enjoy this meal are low. But if you find the taste intriguing and you want to try something new, this might be "it" for you.

I already mentioned before how to make dumplings - if you poke few holes in them while steaming, they will not open up.

To make segedin, you take:
  • olive oil
  • onion
  • garlic (optional)
and cook till golden. Then you add:
  • pork meat (lean with little white fat on the sides) sliced to small pieces
  • salt & pepper & red smoked paprika
Once the meat catches the color, add water and cook till meat gets softer. After that, add:
  • sauerkraut
Cook for another 20 minutes. After that, add:
  • regular whipping cream
You can add also bit of flower, but I don't... Cook for another 5-10 minutes and you are done.
